Darts Of Fortune — A hidden card under each number
Under every number lies a face-down card, shuffled fresh each game. The colour on the board only tells you the kind: green is luck, red is attack, gold is a king and purple is bad luck. Hit a field to turn its card over, and at the end the smallest tally on the beer mat wins.
- 20 cards: 6 luck, 6 attack, 4 kings, 4 bad luck
- Luck: rub out marks, a shield, or swap beer mats
- Attack: hand out marks, hit everyone, or a thumb or category game
- Doubles and triples boost luck, attack and kings
- The fourth king is the king's cup: +4 and game over
- The bull is cheers: everyone else +1, bullseye +2
At a glance
- Difficulty: Easy
- Players: 2–8 players
- Duration: approx. 5–10 min
How to play
- Turn a card: Hit a number and its card flips over. A field that's already turned is empty, and a miss costs you 1 mark.
- Read the colours: Green brings luck, red attacks, gold is a king and purple is bad luck. Doubles and triples boost everything except bad luck.
- Hand out: If you get to hand out marks or swap, tap the beer mats when your turn ends. If you don't, it goes to whoever is ahead.
- Kings: The first three kings give everyone else 1 mark and rub out 1 of yours. Whoever draws the fourth gets 4 marks and the game is over.
- Settling up: After 6 rounds for two (3 for eight) or at the fourth king, the smallest tally wins and that mat gets torn up. Everyone else drinks their marks.
Tips
- Aim for green and gold and stay away from purple: the colour tells you each card's kind.
- A triple on green, red or gold triples the effect; on purple it adds nothing.
- Once three kings are out, leave the gold fields alone.
