Tick Tick Boom — The bomb has to go

Everyone owns a number on the board. Whoever holds the bomb has to hit an opponent's number to send it flying over to them. The fuse is secret and burns down with every dart: whoever holds it when it blows gets marks on their beer mat, and at the end the smallest tally wins.

• Hit an opponent's number and the bomb flies to them
• A secret fuse of 3 to 8 sparks, every dart burns one
• Doubles and triples on an opponent burn 1 or 2 extra sparks
• BOOM: 1 mark plus 1 per pass, 3 at most
• The bull defuses the bomb and nobody gets a mark
• The last bomb is the mega bomb: marks count double

How to play

1. Get rid of it: Whoever holds the bomb throws: hit an opponent's number and it flies to them, and it's their turn. Three darts without a hit and you keep it.
2. The fuse: Every dart with the bomb burns one spark, and nobody knows how many there are. When the last one burns, it goes BOOM on whoever holds it, even mid-flight.
3. Marks: A BOOM is worth 1 mark plus 1 for every pass of that bomb, up to 3. With two players it is always 1 mark.
4. Defuse: Hit the bull and the bomb is defused, so nobody gets anything. The next bomb goes round to the next player.
5. Settling up: There are 6, 8 or 10 bombs depending on the group, and the last one counts double. Then the smallest tally wins and everyone else drinks their marks.

Tips

• From the third spark on, the bomb can go off at any moment. One hit on an opponent passes it on.
• Doubles and triples on an opponent burn faster, and sometimes the bomb blows up in flight on their side.
• With three or more players, a bomb that has been passed around a lot brings more marks when it blows. That's when the bull is the safe way out.
