Balloon — Pop 21 balloons

21 balloons light up on the board: two neighbouring numbers always share one balloon in the outer ring and one in the inner ring, with the heart in the middle. One hit pops the whole balloon. A balloon is worth 100 points, and from your third hit in a row every hit earns another 600. Each turn one of your balloons is golden and counts triple.

How to play

1. Pop a balloon: An outer balloon covers the outer single and double of two neighbouring numbers, an inner one the inner single and triple. One hit pops the whole balloon and its lights go out.
2. Keep the combo: From your third hit in a row every balloon earns 600 extra points. A miss or a balloon that has already popped resets the combo.
3. Golden balloon: At the start of your turn one of your balloons lights up yellow. It counts triple, but only during this turn.
4. The heart: Bull and bullseye form the heart, and you only get it once. Solo it is worth 1000 points; against others it is worth 500, and in each opponent's next turn only the singles of their balloons count.
5. End of the game: After 7 rounds of 5 throws the highest score wins. Whoever pops all 21 balloons ends the game on the spot.

Tips

• Doubles and triples are worth no more than singles here. Aim for the big single areas to protect your combo.
• A popped balloon counts as a miss. Switch to another number pair or ring after every hit.
• Your combo carries over into your next turn. End a turn on two or more hits in a row and your next hit earns another 600 straight away.
