Battleship — Battleships on the dartboard

Battleships on the dartboard: everyone hides three ships of 1, 2 and 3 segments on the board using the touchscreen. Then each player throws three darts per turn, hunting for the other fleets. Hits light up red on the board, and hitting every segment of a ship sinks it. The last player with ships left wins; after 12 rounds the undamaged ship segments decide.

How to play

1. Hide your fleet: Everyone secretly places three ships of 1, 2 and 3 segments on the touchscreen while the others look away. A ship lies in a line: along one number, or in the same ring across neighbouring numbers. Bull and bullseye are off limits.
2. Fire: Each player throws three darts per turn. Every segment counts on its own: the inner single, treble, outer single and double of a number are four different segments. The screen shows where you have already thrown.
3. Hit and sunk: If an opponent's ship lies there, it is a hit and the segment lights up red on the board. Once every segment of a ship has been hit, it sinks and the wreck is visible to everyone on the screen.
4. Winning: The last player with ships left wins on the spot. After 12 rounds, whoever has the most undamaged ship segments wins, then whoever sank more ships, otherwise it is a draw.

Tips

• A hit gives away the direction: the ship continues in the same number or in the same ring of a neighbouring number.
• Doubles and trebles are narrow segments. A ship there is harder to hit than one on the wide singles.
• The player cards show which ship has been hit already. A damaged destroyer is just one segment away from sinking.
