Bowling — 10 frames on the dartboard

Ten-frame bowling on the dartboard. Each frame draws a target number, and its red rings knock down every pin: with your first dart that is a strike, with your second a spare. The target's other rings knock down 8 or 9 pins, the neighbouring numbers a few, but never all of them. Scoring works like real bowling, with bonuses for strikes and spares.

How to play

1. Check the target: Each frame draws a number from 1 to 20. It lights up blue with its clearing rings in red, the two neighbours green and the next two pink.
2. Strike or spare: A red ring knocks down every standing pin: a strike on your first throw, a spare on your second. A blue ring of the target knocks down 8 pins, 9 with the double, but never more than are standing.
3. Neighbours and bull: Green neighbours give 2 to 6 pins, pink ones 0 to 2, the bull 5, and at least one pin always stays up. The bullseye always clears.
4. Pick a difficulty: HARD: only the triple clears. MEDIUM: the inner single and the double as well. EASY: the whole target number.
5. Scoring: Ten frames with bonuses for strikes and spares, and extra throws in the tenth frame after a strike or spare. The highest total wins; a team plays one game together.

Tips

• On MEDIUM only the big outer single is blue. Every red ring is a strike on your first throw.
• If 8 pins or fewer are left after your first throw, any ring of the target number clears the rest.
• The bullseye is the joker: it always clears, whatever the target number is.
